Increase in New Customers at UK Casinos

Rank, which is a British gaming group, has reported this week an increase in pretax profit in the first half of its financial year. This profit comes from increase in new customers at its UK Grosvenor Casinos and also its Mecca Bingo halls. It is always good to see an increase in new players at land based casinos as it shows not all people are staying inside and sticking to playing in online casinos.

The Rank group is 74.5% owned by Malaysia’s Guoco and they announced last month that they are in talks with Gala Coral with the opportunity of gaining some of Gala’s casino business. This possible joint venture could maybe mean that we could see either more Grosvenor Casinos opening or even joint Grosvenor and Gala Casinos opening, who knows!

These new customers at Grosvenor UK Casinos have risen to 762,000 which is a rise of 61,000. Whether people are enjoying their Grosvenor Casino experience and bringing their friends along with them or just trying out a casino for the first time remains to be seen, however it is apparent by this increase in pretax profit that UK Casinos, in particular Grosvenor Casinos are doing well at the moment.

This profit was only reported in the first half of its financial year, therefore we will have to wait and see how well this business does for the second half of the year.
