Cheating in land based casinos has been a problem since the days when gambling first came around. However people trying to trick casinos may soon become caught out quicker than they thought. One of the more well-known land based casinos the Grosvenor Casino – which also has an online gaming website is set to install a new cheat system in which aims to catch out the customers who dare to cheat at the roulette table and alert the croupier.
Cheating at the roulette table is classed as one of the more accessible casino games to cheat in. This is because normally players can place their bests usually after the ‘last bets’ has been called. Placing bets at this late stage is advantageous to the player because as the ball comes to a stop it becomes much easier to predict where the ball will land. Normally this takes place in pairs with one player distracting the croupier while the other player places the bets.
This new cheat system to be used by the major UK chain Grosvenor Casino will consist of software being installed in the CCTV cameras that already exist in the casinos. Obviously the aim is to stop cheating and the software helps that happen by using the video feed from the roulette wheel to decide when the call for ‘last bets’ needs to be said. Following that it will then detect when a hand will enter the betting area and place a chip on the board.
Although other cheat systems have been introduced some of these have dropped by the waist line. However this new system sets to be different because it uses the existing CCTV network rather than bringing in a new system so therefore it is attracting to casino companies.
